2. John Bickar Publishes Article in Learning & Leading with Technology
Cubberley's own John Bickar has an article entitled "Making Field Trips Podtastic!" in the latest (March/April 2008) issue of Learning & Leading with Technology on pp. 18-21. Written with two other graduates of Harvard's Graduate School of Education, this article describes "a wireless, hand-held field trip" to the Boston Museum of Science that they designed. "By supplementing the podcast with the capabilities of the handheld computer, students can increase their interaction, enhance their engagement, and customize their learning experiences at the museum."

3. ***Reference Question of the Week ***
Question: I am looking for documents regarding the
CIA's plot to poison Fidel Castro in order to get rid of his beard. The
plot was to put thallium salts into his shoes. The plot is included in
declassified CIA documents that I believe the library has in microfiche
form.
Answer: The best place to start your search is the Digital National Security Archive. You will find many documents on this topic under Castro Assassination Plots and Operation Mongoose.
It's difficult to find the specific document without reading through
collections because they are not full text searchable. Also we have the
archive in microfiche format. One example is "Cuban missile crisis, 1962"
For the complete answer, visit the Information Center Web site at:

To contribute to the Reference Question of the Week feature of SULAIR News, submit your question and answer through the SULAIR News online submission form at: http://sulairnews.stanford.edu/issues/submit/submit.jsp.
