2. Samantha Teplitzky Leaving Stanford
By the middle of July (or perhaps shortly before), Samantha Teplitzky
will be leaving Branner Library and Stanford to move to Paris with her
family. Her husband has taken a Post Doc position in the City of Lights.
Sam has been with us for a little over three years and has worked hard
to understand the collections as well as the faculty and student
research interests. She has been a strong advocate of new technologies
and was instrumental in creating the Branner blog, the use of del.icio.us
tagging, and use of the Archive-It for preservation of government
documents. She worked in conjunction with the staff of the School of
Earth Sciences and DLSS to start the digitization work on all of the
Masters and PhD theses, a project that is now well underway.
We will certainly miss her here at Branner and wish her the best in the future.

3. ***Reference Question of the Week ***
Question: Can I do a detailed patent search here at Stanford Libraries?
Answer: In order to search the official patent and trademark databases, at the United States Patent Office, you need to go to one of the authorized depository libraries for patent searches. These depository sites have full access to the patent databases. The closest such depository to Stanford is in Sunnyvale, at the Sunnyvale Public Library.
You can find more reference questions and answers at the Information Center Web site.
To contribute to the Reference Question of the Week feature of SULAIR News, submit your question and answer through the SULAIR News online submission form.
